About RICE West Nile

Our Story
RICE West Nile was founded in 2004 with a bold mission to empower rural communities to become self-reliant and break free from cycles of dependency. It all began with a simple yet powerful question that founder members often heard when they returned home from school: “What have you brought for us?” This question sparked deep reflection. It wasn’t just about gifts, it was a call for lasting change. The founders realized that true impact would come not from giving, but from enabling people to stand on their own. Since then, RICE West Nile has supported communities to create sustainable solutions driven by the people, for the people.
